Drew Wilson

Picture
It is with great sadness that we record the death of one of our most active plotholders; Drew Wilson. Drew died peacefully in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on Friday, October 21, 2011. Evening News Announcement

Our love and sympathy go out to Lilian and all their family.

Drew always kept the most impressive plot on the site beside the East Gate. Everyone knew Drew, even if they didn't know his name! He provided an irreplaceable advice service to many new plototholders who needed help with plant, weed and pest identification. How many times were the words; 'Oh, I'll go and ask the gentleman about this' spoken? He really was Mr Inverleith. We shall miss his wit, his sense of humour and his enthusiasm of all things to do with allotment gardening. Rest in peace Drew, the place will never be the same.

A trophy will be named in Drew's honour and awarded annually at our Flower and Vegetable Show.
