Ministerial visit to Inverleith Allotments, Edinburgh - 11th September
Mairi Gougeon; the Scottish Government minister for ‘Rural Affairs and the Natural Environment’ visited Inverleith Allotments along with Ian Welsh; the SAGS President.
After a tour around the site we chatted and enjoyed the late summer sunshine. Mairi left with a better understanding of some the issues we face regarding allotment provision and upkeep. She also took away fresh vegetables and an prizewinning aerial photograph of the site.
All agreed to keep in touch, make the meeting the first of many and help raise the importance of allotments.
